How to tackle the resignation letter
Posted on December 31st, 2008 by Sample Resignation Letter
The resignation should be simple, it should include three things.
- Let the employer know that you are quitting (simple).
- Inform your employer of the date in which you would like them to terminate your employment; it’s a good thing to give them a two week notice. Its to your advantage to leave on good terms, you want to have this as a possible reference.
- Give them a forwarding address in which to send your final paycheck and any other correspondence.
Example:
Bob,
This is a note to inform you that I have taken a position at another employer and I would like to request that my employment with “my company” be terminated by (date 2 weeks from day of notice).
Best regards,
Eddy
That’s all it takes. It is all you need to quit a job, its going to pretty simple. Of course it could go another way around, and they could just let you off right then and there. So be prepared for that, depending on the type of job that may be very likely. It’s so simple; all you have to do is follow the three simple rules, no worrys! Just go on and tackle it.
